Our Youth Basketball program provides a positive, supportive and fun environment with the goal to help youth develop life skills both on and off the court.

Name: Shawn Smith Phone: (425) 861-6267
Bio: Serving as Pavilion & Activities Manager since 2002, Shawn has led camps, clinics, teams, and leagues while working alongside many great coaches and players. Having grown up in the area, he played Select Basketball for Redmond and served as point-guard and shooting guard at Redmond High School. He also traveled with an Eastside AAU All-Star team. He graduated from SPU with a degree in business management. Shawn has a passion for all sports and for developing the club’s Pavilion programs while working with kids and adults of all levels. With over 12 years of coaching experience, he emphasizes the principles listed above with his basketball coaches and teams. |

Name: Nick Renaud
Bio: Nick was a collegiate basketball player at Central College in Pella, Iowa. During his senior year, he served as assistant coach for the program, coaching and recruiting new players. Nick has worked as a Graduate Manager at Pepperdine University (under Paul Westphal) and at UNLV (under Lon Kruger). In addition to his collegiate experience, he has also coached several youth AAU and school teams. |

Name: Brian Dailey
Bio: Brian is in charge of Player Development along with being a coach. He grew up playing basketball on the Eastside and trained at PRO Sports Club while in high school. His experience ranges from being team captain at Eastlake High School to playing Professional basketball in Israel. Among his achievements are receiving athletic scholarships to Bellevue Community College and the University of Missouri, working as Graduate Assistant Coach and Director of Player Development in Missouri, receiving the Mike Alden Award for contributing to team morale in 2004, receiving the Player with Heart Award in 2005, and being honored with the Palestinian Media’s Most Valuable Player Award in 2009. He believes that the core characteristics of desire, competition, teamwork, preparation, and confidence apply to any sport, and enjoys motivating youth by creating an atmosphere for a high level of play. He’d like to teach them, just as he learned, that any goal you set your mind on is possible. He is also the head Eastlake High School varsity boys coach. |

Name: Loren Tillman
Bio: Loren has always played basketball with an unmatched passion and enthusiasm, which he transfers to coaching youth basketball. For the past two years Loren has been a basketball coach for fourth through seventh grades. He focuses on teaching youth the fundamentals and footwork of the game he loves. He is also the head Sammamish High School varisty girls coach. |

Name: Franklin Johnson
Bio: While playing basketball at the University of Puget Sound, Franklin was known as a specialist in the art of defense and shooting. His exceptional understanding of the game, coupled with the ability to transfer this knowledge to others, led to a coaching position for the JV program and continued to varsity level. Following this, Franklin became an assistant coach at Mount Rainier High School for two years. In addition to coaching PRO Sports Club AAU teams since 2007, Franklin has coached the Issaquah sixth grade boys select team, Newport 8th grade team and was an assistant coach for the Washington Middle School girl’s team. Franklin’s strength lies in simplifying techniques into concepts that are easy to grasp and implement. |

Name: KC Cross
Bio: KC began his coaching career while in high school. Over the past 20 years, he has coached CYO, AAU, high school, and youth summer camps. He has also been a referee at the high school and AAU level. KC’s coaching philosophy is simple. “I don’t prepare one team to beat another. I prepare a team to play mistake-free basketball. The only opponent is the time clock, not the scoreboard. If you practice even the most basic and route action correctly, soon it will become a habit. And successful habits make for successful outcomes.” He believes that the skills learned on the court (team work, effort, and great coaching) have made him a successful player, while hard work, determination, and fair play have enabled him to be successful in life, and he is passionate about sharing this philosophy as a coach. |

Name: Gary Henderson
Bio: Gary has been coaching youth sports on the eastside for the last eight years, comprising some twenty seasons of various sports for a range of youth ages. Gary instills a team focused atmosphere in helping youth perform to their full abilities. He brings passionate coaching and teaches youth through individualized instruction and positive reinforcement. He plays basketball regularly in competitive adult leagues. |

Name: Jason Correa-Wood
Bio: Jason has been involved in youth sports for six years and a coach for the past four years. He served as Athletic Director for the Bellevue Boys & Girls Club, and also ran basketball camps and clinics focusing on beginner, intermediate, and advanced skills. He has played select and AAU basketball since he was in sixth grade. His passion for the game of basketball keeps growing. |

Name: Russ Schoene
Bio: Russ has over 30 years of experience as a basketball player and coach. As a professional basketball player, he spent five years in the NBA and seven years in Italy. While in the NBA, he played for the Philadelphia 76ers, the Indiana Pacers, and the Seattle SuperSonics. In Italy, he earned legendary status and was named the Italian League MVP in 1986. Following a successful playing career, Russ spent five years as an assistant coach at Bellevue Community College before joining the University of Washington men’s basketball coaching staff. In 2005, he joined the coaching staff at The Bear Creek School in Redmond, where he helped lead the team to numerous league championships, tri-district championships, and two state play-off appearances. |

Name: Bryan North
Bio: As a true Indiana Hoosier, Bryan brings his Midwest basketball expertise in coaching elementary through high school level leagues. Having coached youth leagues in Indiana, Chicago, Maine, London, and Seattle, Bryan aims to instill confidence, alertness, and teamwork so that all players may overcome adversity on and off the court. He coached his Chicago YMCA team to win the league championships in 2007, accrediting the players with having natural talent and attentive listening skills. His own playing accolades include winning an AAU State Championship, a Ball State University Intramural Championship, and a dunk contest among other awards. |

Name: Scott Vranicar
Bio: Scott has coached various levels of youth basketball for the past 10 years, ranging from 4th grade through high school varsity. He has also taught weight training, baseball, tennis, football, and life skills. As the son of a coach, Scott has a keen understanding of how to motivate players and believes strongly in encouraging both mental and physical confidence. His philosophy is that every player has something to offer the team and works tirelessly to mesh each individual’s strength to achieve the best overall results. While in high school, Scott was a varsity letter winner in basketball and tennis, and starting mid-fielder for his Grace University soccer team. |

Name: Spencer Kraker
Bio: Spencer draws from his experience of playing varsity basketball at Bellevue Christian High School to coach and motivate youth teams. He served as team captain his junior and senior year, was starting point guard on two State Championship teams, and held all of Bellevue Christian’s assist records. Following graduation, Spencer was Varsity Assistant Coach at BCS. The teams he has coached have placed 3rd, 4th and 6th in Washington State in the past three years. He has also coached teams at the Jr. High level. |

Name: Donald Brady
Bio: Donald Brady has coached youth teams and camps for the last six years. He currently is the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at BCC and also spent two years as Assistant at the University of Redlands. Donald played basketball all four years while attending the University of Redlands, where he was a two-time captain and finished sixth all time in assists. While in high school, he was named All-Desert Valley League first team, All-Riverside County third team, All-CIF-Southern Section second team, and was nominated for the McDonald's All-American game. |

Name: Ian Smith
Bio: Ian has been involved in athletics for 25 years, starting with 11 years of youth baseball. At Juanita High School he played varsity basketball, was team captain and a competitive track and field athlete in the high, long, and triple jump events. While studying at Western Washington University, he worked as the Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Bellingham High School under Ken Crawford (former Biola University Women’s Basketball Coach), as well as the Assistant Track and Field/Jumps Coach. His professional experience also includes two years as General Manager at Thrive Community Fitness in Maple Valley. Ian is a teacher at heart, dedicated to maximizing the potential of others. In addition to coaching at PRO Sports Club, he is also a coach for the Mount Si Girls Travel Basketball team. |

Name: Scott Lowery
Bio: Scott is a third-generation basketball coach. His grandfather, father, and two uncles were all longtime high school head basketball coaches. Scott has been the Boys Junior Varsity Coach at Issaquah High School for the past three years and has had experience in coaching youth basketball camps throughout the country, including Wake Forest University and Notre Dame. He also teaches physical education at a local elementary school. Scott played college basketball and was captain of his team at Everett Community College and Pacific Lutheran University. He believes the life lessons that can be learned through basketball are invaluable and promotes the value of teamwork and fundamentals. The basketball court is one of his favorite places to be and he loves to share that joy with his players. |
