Coaches At-A-Glance


Head Coach
  Name: Jeremy Eggers

Bio: Jeremy is the head coach for the Bellevue Community College Bulldogs men’s team, where he also works as a part-time instructor and assistant in the athletic department. For the second time, Eggers was named Northern Division Coach of the Year. Prior to coaching at BCC, Eggers was an assistant coach at Washington State University. He has also worked at PRO Sports Club, developing skills for both young and professional players, and spent nine years in the prep ranks at Inglemoor and Bellevue High Schools. Eggers has coached high school all-star teams for the past 11 summers, serving as the co-director and coach of Friends of Hoop (FOH), a non-profit organization founded by George Karl, for the past five summers. He is a 1993 graduate of Pacific University, where he was a forward on the basketball team for two seasons.

Name: Shawn Smith

Bio: Since managing the Pavilion department in 2002, Shawn has worked alongside many great coaches and players. While growing up in the area, he played Select Basketball for Redmond, while also traveling with an eastside AAU All-Star team. He played point-guard and shooting guard at Redmond High School. Later, he attended and graduated from SPU with a degree in business management. Shawn has a passion for developing the club’s Pavilion programs while working with kids and adults.

Coaches
Name: Guy Perry

Bio: As a lifelong basketball enthusiast, Guy achieved All-League recognition and earned Defensive Player of the Year at San Rafael High School near San Francisco. As a collegian, Guy played at College of Marin in Northern California and was Captain of Bellevue Community College’s 1976 Co-Championship team. Guy has worked with kids from kindergarten to college, instilling at an early age, the importance of balance, defense, fundamentals, communication, and team work. Coach Perry has also assisted Washington High School Hall of Fame Coach, Jim Enslin at Seattle Prep, long time Bellevue Community College coach, Ernie Woods, the winningest Community College coach in the Northwest and works with players at Inglemoor High School under Coach Greg Lowell. Coach Perry firmly believes, “You earn trust, gain respect and inspire loyalty” and subscribes to the 3 H’s: Have HEART, Always HUSTLE, Be HUMBLE...

Name: Franklin Johnson

Bio: While playing basketball at the University of Puget Sound, Franklin was known as a specialist in the art of defense and shooting. His exceptional understanding of the game, coupled with the ability to transfer this knowledge to others, led to a coaching position for the JV program and continued to varsity level. Following this, Franklin became an assistant coach at Mount Rainier High School for two years. Most recently he coached the Issaquah sixth grade boys select team and was an assistant coach for the Washington Middle School girl’s team. Franklin’s strength lies in simplifying techniques into concepts that are easy to grasp and implement.

Name: Michael Schick

Bio: Michael Schick has been a basketball coach at the Junior High level and for various AAU teams the past 3 years. He graduated from Central Washington University where he received a degree in Health and Athletic Performance. He has played with many professional basketball players and understands what it takes to make it to the next level. He enjoys sharing his passion for the sport and helping the youth he coaches achieve success in their game. While at Puyallup High School, Michael was captain of his basketball team and second team All-League. He was also the captain of his team in his second year at South Puget Sound Community College.

Name: Nick Renaud

Bio: Nick was a collegiate basketball player at Central College in Pella, Iowa. During his senior year, he served as assistant coach for the program, coaching and recruiting new players. Nick has worked as a Graduate Manager at Pepperdine University (under Paul Westphal) and at UNLV (under Lon Kruger). In addition to his collegiate experience, he has also coached several youth AAU and school teams.

Name: Loren Tillman

Bio: Loren has always played basketball with an unmatched passion and enthusiasm, which he transfers to coaching youth basketball. For the past two years Loren has been a basketball coach for fourth through seventh grades. He focuses on teaching youth the fundamentals and footwork of the game he loves.

Name: Gary Henderson

Bio: Gary has been coaching youth sports on the eastside for the last eight years, comprising some twenty seasons of various sports for a range of youth ages. Gary instills a team focused atmosphere in helping youth perform to their full abilities. He brings passionate coaching and teaches youth through individualized instruction and positive reinforcement. He plays basketball regularly in competitive adult leagues.

Name: Chase Griffin

Bio: Chase was named All-West Coast Conference (WCC) player during his senior year at Pepperdine University as the second leading scorer in WCC. Following graduation he played professional basketball in Hagen, Germany. He has now returned to his first love of basketball, which is to coach children. Having played basketball since fifth grade and having been both underdog and favorite, Chase understands the joy, fear, and confidence that basketball develops in young players. He believes that these lessons transfer to both being on and off the court, and he enjoys teaching youngsters that the sky’s the limit.

Name: Jeremy Cross

Bio: While at Washington State University, Jeremy helped the Cougars go to post seasons in both his junior and senior year, making an appearance in the Sweet 16 in the 2008 season. At the University of Puget Sound, Jeremy was team captain in his second year and named to the All-Northwest Conference second team, leading the team in scoring and assists. While in high school, Jeremy was a member of the varsity team and served as team captain for three years. He was rated one of the top 10 combo guards in Southern California, named first team All-Palomar League, and was nominated McDonald’s All-American.

Name: Donald Brady

Bio: Donald Brady has coached youth teams and camps for the last six years. He currently is the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at BCC and also spent two years as Assistant at the University of Redlands. Donald played basketball all four years while attending the University of Redlands, where he was a two-time captain and finished sixth all time in assists. While in high school, he was named All-Desert Valley League first team, All-Riverside County third team, All-CIF-Southern Section second team, and was nominated for the McDonald's All-American game.
